A small piece of ice I placed on the edge of Almannagjá at Þingvellir. I think these are Polish guys there in the distance. I thought about cloning them out but decided to leave them in. Maybe because they kind of reflect the current "zeitgeist" in Iceland. There has been a serious shortage of workforce in Iceland for the past 3-5 years. The shortage has been met by worker mainly from Poland. Here we have 3 representatives of the foreign workforce enjoying the beauty of the holiest of all holy places in Icelandic history.

The image is hand blended mix of 3 handheld exposures with the usual adjustments (curves, levels, colors).

I used to love sailing on rafts like this when I was a kid. I guess this one would sink as a stone with me onboard. I just hope the kids that sail on this one are good swimmers. You newer know.

The first thing that crossed my mind when I saw this was, would I see "HELTER SKELTER" written on the living room wall. But of course, I didn't.

It was a good thing I forgot take the quick release thingy for my tripod. As a result of that I had to take this shot laying on the ground, which gives an even better perspective.

I took some long exposures of the firework mayhem here in Reykjavik last night. The lights, the noise and the smoke was unbelievable. It's estimated that each household spends a $100 worth on fireworks which are mostly blown away on new years ewe. The fireworks are mostly sold by volunteer rescue teams which use the profits to buy new equipment. So it's a money well spent.
