'Grid' 56133 'Crewe Locomotive Works' in Transrail livery heads through Horbury cutting with 'Merry Go Round' empties on 23rd July 1999. Brand new in July 1984, 56133 was withdrawn from service in February 2004 and disposed of at EMR Kingsbury during 2012.

Bullied West Country Pacific 34067 'Tangmere' crosses over the M6 motorway climbing the bank from Ince Moss to Garswood this evening.
The Great Britain 16 tour was on Day 7 of 9, Riley's Black 5's 44871 & 45407 worked the train to Carlisle giving way to 'Tangmere' for the last leg into Liverpool and this could well be the first time a un-rebuilt West Country has arrived into Lime Street?
* Pole @ 8m, could not go higher in the strong Northerly wind.

Pulling into Iron Junction, a southbound loaded pellet train is pulled by a trio of C40-8s. Having disappeared from almost every corner of Class 1 railroading, this stand in 2024 made a recent trip to Minnesota even better.
