I am happy to say I saw this Grizzly at the Calgary Zoo! One bear seen in the wild this past month was more than enough for me, though the bear I did see in the wild (in Weaselhead) was a Black Bear.

I believe these two Grizzly Bears are orphans that were brought to the Zoo when they were younger. While I was there, they were really active and were play-fighting and tumbling. Had to take photos through a filthy, plastic (? but something VERY strong!) window, which doesn't lead to very good photos, but does avoid having metal netting in front as well as behind the animals. One of the bears was having so much fun somersaulting and rolling in the snow.

One of the Grizzly Bears at the Calgary Zoo, showing the typical hump of a Grizzly. Black Bears do not have this hump. Happy to see this animal at the Zoo rather than on one of my walks!

I believe this is one of two bear cubs that were orphaned last year and brought to the Calgary Zoo. They were in such a playful mood and I caught this one doing somersaults and rolling in the snow. Cute? Just take a look at those CLAWS!

The Grizzly ended up with the tiny fish! My eyes are always drawn to the size of those claws! Sorry if anyone has left a comment on this photo before reading that I took it at the Zoo! Of course, if it had been in the wild, I would not have stopped long enough to even take a photo, LOL!
