The sun has already gone down below the peak on the left. I was waiting to see if it might come out in the gap, but alas, not. It did however light up the snow that was blowing around at elevation.
I thought I was coming up with a new perspective on Mount Rundle. It turns out that I actually uploaded a very similar pic to this one exactly a year ago. I must be trapped in some kind of time warp.

Yes, I'm surrounded by the mountains, but sometimes I just need to look at the trees. If I look hard enough, I can see the forest for the trees.

Our weather has been so up and down this winter that I haven't got out as many times as I wished. But there were a couple of good days last week that got me out on my skis.

I'm sitting in an office waiting room looking up through the central open space wondering about time travel and the size of the universe.

What do you do in a polar vortex? You bundle up, and you go out for a walk. A sundog (aka parhelion) is an atmospheric optical illusion that appears as two bright spots flanking the sun, connected overhead by a bright halo, often with rainbow effects. Sundogs are caused by the refraction of sunlight by ice crystals in the atmosphere. Walking towards a sundog is like walking towards a rainbow.
