This shot was taken near Thornley woodlands center in a bird hide. This cheeky fox was digging for something. When he heard my mirror slapping on the camera he looked up and I got a nice moment of him looking straight at me! Shot was taken using a Sigma 100-300mm f/4 EX lens with a 2x teleconverter making 600mm focal length (and it still wasnt enough!).

The original photo can be viewed here and an intermediate photo here

The out of focus leaves in the forgeground were very distracting so I used the clone tool to get rid of most of them but the colours were a little off so a mixture of burn and sponge were used to correct this. Finally an added vignette effect was added to give the shot a more candid feel.

This small bird is a great example of a blue tit. Sat nicely on the edge of a feeding table, he looked up just in time for a photo :o)

This cute little bird is a Nuthatch - he was very quick and at first I thought it was a kingfisher. He turned out not to be as colourful but very cute all the same. This shot was captured handheld with my Sigma 100-300mm f/4 lens with a cheapo 2x teleconverter but I am pleased with the result.

This is standing directly underneath an electricity pylon! I loved the geometric shapes against the clear blue sky.
