Last of this seasons Siskins, sad to see them go but glad so many came to visit us.
Going to start cutting down the number of feeders, I'm plagued with Corvids and the seed is too expensive to waste on them. They do get a cheaper seed put down for them but, they know where the good stuff is.

A bird I associate with the Hadrian's Wall area.
This one was at Walltown today, they seem to nest in the stone walls and there are lots of speces on the Roman Wall

I could hear the distinctive song but he was in a Hawthorn thicket and I couldn't see him. I went round and around the hedge and waited, he moved to a nice perch. Great for singing and great for me.
I expressed my gatitude and left him in peace.
PS it is a big crop, I didn't crowd the bird.

Missed the Barn Owls on yesterday's trip but someone kindly told me where would be best to see them.
Such beautiful birds and despite problems with my D500 I managed to get a couple of photographs.
