We just recently completed our first trip to Yellowstone National Park and we were both awestruck by the diversity and beauty of pretty much everything we encountered. In this image I tried to capture the variety of colors and textures of the Grand Prismatic Spring on the park's west side. We had hiked the boardwalks around the spring but really we were unable to comprehend its size and complexities until we hiked above the area and were able to look down on it from a higher rocky point. I left a lone dead lodgepole pine in the left foreground to give a perspective of how big this spring really is.
