I took this photo with my canon years ago, and the only evidence I can find of it is in the form of a 4x6 print I ordered from Walgreens that has been hanging on my front door for years and years. I used to print my favorites just to see how they looked in print, and occasionally I liked one and would keep it around for inspiration or something like that. I have been trying to locate a digital original for a week now, and I haven’t had success. I also tried to find time to take a photo for Jan. 16, and again, I was unsuccessful. So I checked my phone for any photos I took with it on the 16th. This is the only one. I took a different one of the same photo a few days ago, but I didn’t think it looked straight so I did a retake today.
All that to say, not my best showing on the 1/31 thing. On the flipside, though, I was photographically inspired, so at least it ain’t nothing! Now to sift through 50 SD cards and find this thing. The app I used didn’t exactly clean it up as I’d hoped, but I’m glad I still have the image in some form, because yeah, it is inspiring.

Jan. 15 wasn’t much different than the 14th, but only in the photographic respect. Otherwise, I don’t think the two days could have been any less alike. Sounds mysterious, but no, even the flavors of excitement and bore were polar opposites. So, this blurry beauty is a zoomed in and heavily edited chunk of a sweatshirt onto which I’ve been throwing alcohol ink, rinsing off what I don’t like, re-inking, and on and on, for the last week. It’s nearly there. Surely it’s nearly there. Alcohol ink itself is a wildly rewarding medium, but it isn’t forever that. I’m going to have a $270 sweatshirt if I’m not careful.

The only photo I took on January 14 was of a paper towel dispenser in a public bathroom. Sometimes it be like that….. A busy day with family and friends is a perfectly fine reason for not having found the time to take a quality photo with big girl camera. 💥💥
