50045 Achillies passes Whitestone near Hereford on 9-4-81 and is about to pass under the main Worcester to Hereford road the A4103. This is the only photo I have at this location and even then it was becoming overgrown and have Photo Shopped a couple of sapplings out of the foreground.
It may be that the lineside greenery has been cut back at some time after 1981 but it is not an inspiring location really.
It is one of the few shots I have of 50's when they were working daytime services on this line. Having moved from Devon in 1979 I think I had become saturated with them and rather took them for granted in the Worcester- Hereford area
Note the double track is still in use
