47079 [GEORGE JACKSON] GJ CHURCHWARD heads south past Ashchurch loop on 28.11.81
Whilst not totally sharp I have added this as a contrast to a previously uploaded shot of tnt 56's at the same spot
Well before the reopening of Ashchurch for Tewkesbury station which was on 1 June 1997.
The original station had opened 24 June 1840 and of course was the junction for trains to Evesham and Upton on Severn. It was then closed by the British Railways Board in November 1971.
At least two others people are looking on from the footbridge, in the background can be seen a double decker bus. Where the bus is parked is now houses but I think it may have been a turning circle for a local service at the time. Can anyone confirm this.
