This is a representation of the Extension proposal of the portuguese continental platform. It was done using QGIS 2.2 and uses only contour lines and the area limits data.

Following the inspiration of UndedarkGIS I decided to use QGIS to do a map of Cascais, Portugal, inspired in old hand draw maps. This was done in QGIS 2.2, and besides the (already known) blending modes with some backgroud texture, I used Inside only outlines to give some expression to green spaces and sea. This time with another (stronger) texture.
