The island of São Miguel in the Azores is home to the oldest tea plantations in all of Europe!

In the 16th century, tea was introduced to the Azores by tea experts from China. The Portuguese started calling tea 'Chá' because the Chinese character for tea can be read 'Cha', which means 'to harvest' in Mandarin.

The Cha Gorreana tea plantation is a family business established in 1883. At 137 years old, it is the oldest tea plantation in Europe. At the plantation, they produce black, green and canto teas that are processed organically and traditionally. For 6 generations, the tea has been processed in the same way and its quality is considered world-class.

The Caldeira do Cabeço Gordo is one of the main landmarks of Faial. Situated in the center of the island it is with its 2 kilometre diameter and 400 meter depth probably the most impressive crater of the Azores. Before heading to the Caldeira, look out of the window, if the top of the island is covered in clouds, rather choose another time to go. In case of stormy weather, be aware that there can be very high winds. The Caldeira Volcano is the highest mountain, massive stratovolcano and the largest geomorphological structure that forms the island of Faial. The mountain's highest point, Cabeço Gordo, reaches 1,043 metres (3,422 ft) above sea level.

Le Pic du Midi d'Ossau est une montagne qui s'élève au-dessus de la vallée d'Ossau dans les Pyrénées françaises. Bien qu'il ne possède ni glacier ni, dans le contexte de la chaîne, de sommet particulièrement élevé, sa forme caractéristique en fait un symbole du versant français des Pyrénées. Cette forme familière le rend également facilement reconnaissable de loin, et il se distingue particulièrement du boulevard des Pyrénées à Pau, à quelque 55 km au nord.
