It's been a while since I last posted, and while I have plenty of photos from the summer I will focus on a more recent one. I took this at Devils River Campground, which is located just south of Green Bay. It's a very quiet and isolated spot that is worth a visit, just check in with the owners of the property before you go.

On Saturday there were rumblings of a wandering black bear roaming through the city of Madison. These types of sightings are pretty common for southern Wisconsin so I didn't think much of it. I heard later in the day that it was only a few blocks from my house and I ended up finding it perched in a tree getting ready to nap. There were may 4 other local people there with binoculars looking at it before I left.

My brother-in-law gave me a nice tip the other day and alerted me that there was a great horned owl and her chicks near his workplace. I went out later in the day and sure enough she was still there and her chicks were awake and alert. Here is a quick portrait of the mother as she guarded her nest and got a bit of rest in.

Here's an aerial view of Door County's rocky shoreline from a couple of weekends ago when the colors were starting to pop. I really like how the blue waters of Lake Michigan contrast the orange and yellow hues of the trees.

The famous curvy road of Hwy 42 wasn't so busy this weekend, as rain had engulfed most of Door County. This gave me plenty of time to be patient and get a fun shot of a car driving through the bends of the road. This is a single shot that was shot a few minutes after sunset.
