Indonesian police beat up journalists from ABC News and Al Jazeera English covering a Free West Papua demonstration in Jakarta.
The The Jakarta Globe and BBC Indonesia is reporting that today Step Vaessen from Al Jazeera and Archicco Guillano fro ABC were beaten up by Indonesian police and were forced to the delete their photos. (sic)

Tito Karnavian who oversaw surge of human rights violations against us and has today overseen the mass arrests and beating of West Papuan students around Jakarta. He was recently made the Inspector Chief of the Indonesian Police in Jakarta and even claimed that "Police have the authority to violate human rights while on duty."
He has since been made the Indonesian Police Chief in Jakarta and today has overseen the brutal beating and arrest of West Papuans as seen in this photo. (sic)

Breaking News from Fak-Fak, West Papua. Forty West Papuans arrested by Indonesian government for giving thanks for MSG acceptance of West Papua.
The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) is an intergovernmental organization, composed of the four Melanesian states of Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, and the Kanak and Socialist National Liberation Front of New Caledonia.

Filep Karma is a West Papuan political prisoner.
The Indonesian authorities sentenced him to 15 years in 2004 for peacefully raising the West Papua flag. He is recognised as a 'prisoner of conscience' by Amnesty International.
