The girls in a small dancing troupe awaiting their Charleston spot on the open stage. We learnt from one of the blokes that they'd come up from London. They were a very lively, attractive, fit and talented group, in demand all over the UK, but can't recall their stage name!
The dozens of photos of the event we came across after wandering around Little Germany and the Cathedral, were all taken with an eBay bargain, c£35 - a Pentacon 135mm F2.8 lens.

Looking through my many photos of a 1940s dancing event, I suddenly spied the expression on the older woman's face directed unseeing by the woman in the foreground swigging a bottle of pop. [It was a boiling hot day, we were in the shade on the other side of the stage]
