Fluidr / Dog Lake by San Francisco Gal

In the high country of Yosemite National Park, this lovely lake sits at an elevation of 9,240 ft (2,815 m). It is not a long hike, but the trail climes about 750 ft (225 m) over 1.4 miles (2.25 km). My aging knees were not happy going down!

It was named Dog Lake in 1898 by Robert Marshall of the US Geological Survey who found an abandoned sheepdog with a litter of puppies.
