A tiny, long-tailed bird of broadleaf forests and scrublands, the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher makes itself known by its soft but insistent calls and its constant motion. The Blue-gray Gnatcatcher is the northernmost-occurring species of gnatcatcher, and the only truly migratory one. Most members of its genus are resident in Central and South America. In spite of there names gnats are not a significant part of there diet.

A Red Fox tries to check out the strange subject lying in the sand as yet another sun is about to set on land. This is a time for Foxes to become active, being primarily nocturnal hunters. Red fox is the largest of the North American foxes and they are busy mating at this time of the year. Soon it will be time to give birth.

One of the most successful predators on earth, the Red Fox in search of a new meal. This was a very obliging individual that allowed me to take it's photograph as he went about his daily business.

The Serengeti is famous for Cheetahs or so we were told but we did not see a single Cheetah the three days we were there. There numbers are low and even with all the conservation effort's there comeback is very slow.
On our last day, we came across this fella maybe an hour before our departure. This male was rather inquisitive and started walking straight towards us.
Cheetahs are the smallest of the big cats but beautiful and highly specialized, making them not very adaptable to the changes around them.

Snowy Owls are magical creatures for sure. They turn up on roof tops, in a farmer's field and on our shores and than disappear just as quietly. In the process they create quiet a ruckus among birder's and photographers. This one was resting after a night of foraging, on the beach, just as the sun was coming up. My favorite bird of prey without a doubt.
