A delightful scene from my set on California ~ Mendocino County. I first posted this several years ago .... and here it is again, for new contacts who may not have seen it.
Description: Here is a taste of my home place. About 25 miles from the turn in the highway that takes me to my home by the Pacific I was driving along this former old stagecoach road in northern California. It is now Anderson Valley's Highway 128 that takes you to the beautiful Mendocino Coast. I was returning from a very productive but tiring trip overseas and came quietly across this scene at twilight. It felt as if my home place - the rural county that I love - was welcoming me back. I couldn't believe my eyes, nor could I resist jumping out of the car in the last light of day...jet lag and all... and getting a few exposures with the aid of a tripod. It was actually almost dark, but with some PS adjustment I've made the entire scene a bit brighter. Years ago homesteaders lovingly planted fruit trees around this little house, and although they are long gone, the faithful trees pay tribute to the family's efforts, year after year, in a glorious celebration of spring.
