This ancient fishing village is nestled against a hillside at the foot of the Maritime Alps of Provence, near the French border with Italy. A possession of the Kingdom of Monaco for centuries it became part of France in the late 1800's. Menton has the warmest winter weather of France, protected as it is from the north cold by coastal mountains. A beautiful place with many different plants, including citrus trees, palm trees, succulents, and cacti, given it never freezes in Menton!
