User / Rita Crane Photography / Rita Crane Photography: Golden Gate Bridge in Fog III, San Francisco, California
Rita Crane / 763 items
A huge fog bank that was rolling in and out between the Pacific and San Francisco Bay. For a few minutes the north tower of the Golden Gate was completely obscured by a layer of low lying fog, known as the 'marine layer' that those of us who live along the west coast know very well. Thanks to this life saving moisture that comes in off the ocean when it gets hot inland, the redwood trees and other forest plants get the water they need through our long dry summers. For many of us this cool, fresh air is very welcome.
