Before heading home, Sarah squeezed in a short visit to the Lake District in England. Here she is at the Lake District National Park. A lot of this publicly protected land is owed to land and monetary donations from Beatrix Potter.
"The name of Beatrix Potter is firmly linked with the English Lake District, from the Derwentwater area where the family spent many holidays, to Sawrey and Hawkshead near Windermere in particular. It was in this beautiful part of England that she wrote many of her children’s books and here that she spent the last thirty years of her life, having married local solicitor William Heelis in 1913."

Before the spring snowstorm, I covered all of my flowers with random glass covers like this old fish tank. It seems to have worked. They have been under glass for days and are still green. These daffodils already had buds on them. I also used one cloche, a few Ball jars, and some glass containers I bought at the thrift store for candles for an evening party. This is why I am a bit of a "hoarder." You never know when stuff will come in handy!
