The first spiers in Moscow were crowned with temples and belfries. A considerable height (30 meters) stood out the spire of the Menshikov Tower, but in 1723 it was burned from a lightning strike. In Moscow, the most famous buildings with spiers are the Stalin skyscrapers (Seven Sisters). In the Stalin era, architects often used spiers on other buildings. In the last decade it has again become popular to decorate buildings with spiers.
