I made this photo of my bride Melody after she turned toward the camera when I called her name as we were hiking a path in John Mclaren Park during our daily walk In mid May 2023. John McLaren Park spans 313 acres of hilly terrain, is the second largest park in San Francisco, and one border is only a few blocks from our home. We walk it often. Must have been a chilly day the way Melody is dressed. I shot this using my Canon Powershot SX50.

This image of Melody and me was during the brief marriage ceremony in the beautiful Rotunda of San Francisco's City Hall. Though the solemnization of our marriage was only 15 minutes or so, you can see by this photo that we were smiling the whole time. In this photo we were probably listening to and looking at the Deputy Marriage Commissioner, Valerie. This was just after we had affirmed our vows. It was easy to smile, since all people involved were so happy and even the strangers mill around nearby awaiting their turn were also in a festive mood.

The timing for our wedding was perfect on May 15, 2014. Since we were the first of three couples who had appointments between 1 and 2 PM, we had several minutes to continue pre-ceremony photos until Deputy Marriage Commissioner Valerie had finished preparations with the other two couples before meeting us in the Rotunda, which is located at the top of the gigantic marble stairway in the center of San Francisco's beautiful City Hall. There were six in our wedding party. Shown here are our witnesses Chris and Anita posing for a photo with Melody and me in the rotunda. The statue on the right of this image is of the late supervisor Harvey Milk. Our friend, Mark Watt captured this image with my Canon Powershot SX50 while my sister was looking on. It was a great day for all and the timing was, indeed, perfect.

You can get a glimpse of how beautiful a setting San Francisco's City Hall is for a wedding ceremony. In this image Melody and I are in the circle of the rotunda with Deputy Marriage Commissioner Valerie at the helm. This was the first photo taken as our Wedding Ceremony began. Our friend Chris captured this using his iPhone 4S. The image was good and easy to edit.
