It would seem Nala is everywhere, emerging from some of the most unexpected places. How come she’s always one step ahead and knows where I’m going to be next? Say what you want, my cat is stalking me. In this picture all I’m doing is having some coffee on the back patio with my wife. I brought my camera outside because I wanted to photograph some of the birds that hang around our yard. Suddenly I feel a burning sensation on the back of my neck. I look over my shoulder and I see this. It’s Nala. She’s sitting on a garbage can hiding behind some bushes. Glaring!

No, there’s not a cell phone law in Oregon for cyclists yet but apparently legislators have been fine-tuning their bills to include bicycles. Bicyclists in Chicago are prohibited from using handheld cell phones and texting as of November. Other states appear to be looking into similar laws.

We all can be very protective of our photography. A couple of years ago, though, I decided to allow my landscapes to be in the Creative Commons. Since then I have tried to follow where my pictures get used. I’ve found my photos on blogs, photography websites, newspapers, Facebook, and Yahoo just to name a few places. But on this occasion I discovered not only had someone paired one of my pictures with some interesting music on YouTube, but they also changed the entire mood of the photo by converting it to black & white. As often as I use monochrome processing don’t ask me why but, I never once thought of converting this picture to black & white. I think I like it better.
