Just getting back home from Nome Alaska.

Bluethroat is a specialty bird in this region as it only breeds in Northwestern Alaska and Eurasia.
It was great getting this guy on day one of the trip. Matthew had located several birds on his pre scouting trips and this bird gave us some great looks.

It was a great 16day long trip and sweet seeing so many birds on territory in breeding plumage.

Wilsons Warbler

Wilsons Warbler we see briefly as they pass through Ohio during Migration.
But seeing them up and singing on territory was a real treat. especially amongst last years dried Willow Leaves and the emerging new growth and blossoming fresh willow buds.

This Long Tailed Duck was photographed very near the town of Nome and where we were staying.

American Pipet

I had located a Pipet nest along a Road,There were several in the area. The birds were utilizing a broken off shrub base as a perch, which was not very desirable.

I had unearthed a section of Tundra and placed it on the perch and waited in hopes of getting a shot, However my presence made them uncomfortable.
I then set the camera up about 25 feet away on the perch and focused at F/10 on the Apex of the perch where I thought the bird would go.

I then got back and remotely triggered the camera from a distance as the birds quickly started using the perch again.

Parasitic Jaeger

Long Tailed Jaegers are pretty common around the Nome area, Parasitic's are allot fewer and farther between, If I recall correctly, this is one of the only birds we found as it was nesting on the Tundra.
