The Black Flower Piercer was captured as he stopped for a moment to rest. He is often seen feeding with the hummingbirds but he feeds from the base of the flower unlike the hummingbirds who feed from the opening of the flower. The tiny curved beak allows him to pierce the flower at the very base and get the nectar. It is amazing how God has created each species to feed in it's own particular way . Truly a miracle of creation.
