The sun didn't make an appearance at sunset but I quite liked the cooler more tense atmosphere it created. Some decent sized waves were surging in between these slate fingers of rock and creating the separation and contrast I was after.

Although I have visited the coast a couple of times in the last few weeks I hadn't really had time to get stuck into anything. With a few hours available last week, I had a long wander around my favourite local spot and tried a variety of lenses and filers on the gfx. I hadn't taken that many wider shots and as the light started to fade I made a few longer exposures using the 32-64gf lens.
I loved every minute of it!

After making several intimate abstracts I thought that this scene warranted a full 'body' shot. The setting sun was literally just hovering on the horizon and giving off a fantastic warmth on the wet rocks. This is a single exposure.

I spent some time watching how the swell would send waves in and around the cliff face in interesting patterns. Finding the right shutter length revealed the motion and was key to making the picture a success. I liked the transparency of that beautiful turquoise sea.

I love this place and really enjoy trying to capture the motion of water flowing around the granite boulders. This is one from the river above the beach and I liked the contrast of colours.
