It was Earth Day and my sister and I decided to meet at the Chester Roberts Memorial Park in Port Charlotte just before sunset. We hoped that it would be low tide (which it was) so that the very small sandy beach wouldn't be covered. The temperature was comfortable with low humidity. However, the noseeums were biting, but despite that, we had a great time watching the moon rise and porpoises (dolphins) breaking the surface. A few pelicans flew past and I also spotted a couple of Yellow Crowned Night Herons along side of one of piers.
We were the only two people there. That's fortunate because the parking lot can only accommodate a few cars. But this small park offers a beautiful view of the Peace River, which empties out into Charlotte Harbor. The park is located on the shoreline in Port Charlotte, Florida. The bridge carrying Hwy. 41 traffic between Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda can be seen in the distance..

CharBinks had her first Tball game this evening! To say she loved it would be an understatement. Her big brother Luke plays baseball, and came to see his sister play her first Tball game before he had to go to practice. Been awhile since I have seen a Tball game. Luke is 6 years older than Char… so I had forgotten how fun and funny they are! She gave it her all and after getting the ball and running ½ way to first then throwing it, people in the bleachers and by the fence were yelling “ good job” and “ good play” she trotted toward the rest of her team and turned to wave at the people in the stands that told her she did a good job, with a smile on her face! Stay spunky Binks and remember your fans! :D
