I was watching a huge flock of siskins (very common lately) when everything exploded into chaos and this young hawk made several inexpert, curving passes through the narrow confines of our yard. I'm guessing a cooper's hawk, but would never argue if anyone told me it's sharp-shinned. Both are common in the neighborhood and occasionals in the yard--especially when siskins are abundant. Cooper's (?) hawk, backyard Oympia.
