At the Bardu Husky Lodge, in northern Norway, my youngest son greets Embla with a wet nose to nose kiss. His favorite part of the day was greeting each husky, one by one, for a cuddle and hellos.

Golden Gardens in Seattle has a small grove of deciduous trees that grow out of the sand. Most of the park is surrounded by evergreens which are beautiful, but I prefer these tall and crooked ones. They cast wonderful shadows when the afternoon sun falls on them. In between their trunks you will find a place to lay a blanket and picnic. I chose black and white for this image as it evokes the mood I feel when looking upon them.
