Kensington Market is a small neighbourhood next to Chinatown that was the Jewish ghetto around the beginning of the 20th century. Successive ethnic groups moved in when the Jews moved to more up-scale areas. The Italians and the Portuguese came in the 1960s, Chinese in the 1980s, Caribbeans more recently.
They all left a bit of their culture behind in Kensington Market today.
