I found this bird while sitting on a bench at the Sonoita Creek Preserve in Patagonia, AZ. The chats were all around, but when this one landed in a tree that was next to me, I simply fired away hoping for anything. An image of a bird with three berries in its beak can only be attributed to luck.

I also took this image on the Estuary Trail at Magee Marsh earlier this month. This warbler is anything but rare, but every now and then this beauty will pose in such a way that will make me stop to point my camera. And how joyful he looks, perched in his snag.

The early days of the Biggest Week at Magee Marsh this year featured only a few species of warblers, but while wandering the Estuary Trail west of the Boardwalk, this handsome fellow dropped down right in front of me. He flitted about this tree seeking insects. For one brief moment he stood still for this pose.
