I'd Been at This Point Years Ago! When I'd been at this overlook to the Green River years ago with my Nikon D90, it had been a bright afternoon, and I was still learning much with exposure and metering. Still Getty liked it enough to license it. For this trip though, I got up much earlier and used the cloud cover to allow for a better exposure that seemingly brought out a more accurate color for this setting. With the height I had from this overlook, I decided to angle my SLR camera downward, capturing a view that swept across this open landscape of Canyonlands National Park. One would then find the eyes drawn to the canyons and Green River before coming to more the more distant cliff walls and mesas. High above the blue skies and clouds would complement the setting adding a color contrast to the reds and brows below. |
