Black-capped Chickadee struck a pose against the snow background @ Grey Nuns White Spruce forest, St Albert, Alberta.
We have just returned from our fantastic vacation with our family including our darling granddaughter at Disney World in Orlando. I haven't checked Flickr for a while and it surely will take me a few days to catch up with my Flickr friends. Thank you so much for your visits and comments. They are very much appreciated.

This Heron stood motionless very patiently waiting for a prey to come within striking distance. When the opportunity finally arrived, it struck suddenly with a splash and returned with a struggling pike. It took the fish to the shallow to dislodge and kill it, presumably to make sure it could not get away, and promptly swallowed it whole.

Attitude is everything.
Perched atop a commanding cattail, a Yellow-headed Blackbird sang with a refreshing abandon.
There is something really special about taking pictures in the early morning. I like the morning sunlight showing on this Yellow-headed Blackbird. The light was flattering, the colours were true, and there was no harsh light to spoil the magic.
Shooting with the telephoto lens wide open created a soft bokeh that helped to eliminate the reed bed background by totally blurring it.
