A short slideshow clip of an adult male feeding a youngster. While the audio is not specifically from this encounter, it is accurate to what I was hearing at the moment. That high pitched sound is the sound the immature ones almost constantly make. I'm not an avian linguist by any stretch of the imagination, but it translates roughly to "food goes down throat now or I keep making this annoying noise!"

Quick clip from my blind last week. The Sharpie and the Coopers spend a fair amount of time each winter patrolling my feeding station. The first alert system I use for their presence is the startle flights of the Mourning Doves, when they do their explosive mass take offs, time to scan the tree line.
