A Moose calf anxiously runs back and forth along a fence line trying to reunite with its mother. Mom had leisurely cleared the barbed wire fence but junior couldn't go over it, under it or through it without suffering harm. I cleared the area and watched mom circle back towards her calf.

I encountered a family of (feral)cats today near Bittern Lake. They scattered into the tall grasses as I approached along the road. Curiosity got the best of this one and it inched partially out of the grass to check out the stranger.
