Brick Lane, Shoreditch, London

Images and styles sit side by side. This is a single image – the left hand side is painted on a brick wall whereas the right hand side, slightly rebated, is painted on a garage door.

These are sections from three shutter doors from the same shop frontage. I did think of changing the colour on one of the panels to give it a more tricolor look but thought against it... after all it’s not my artwork. I have, however, rotated then to capture full frame without cropping.

Ever since we started watching Tattoo Fixers on E4 (no we don’t have any tattoos but admire the skill of the artwork and are amused at the stories behind the non-descript bad ones and they are ALL bad... believe me!) we said we would visit the area to see the graffiti artwork shown in the programme... unfortunately its filmed somewhere in Hackney and not Brick Lane but still worth the visit.

The following postings are just a collection of what we came across while strolling along Brick Lane... I’m sure they will not be to everyone’s liking but they are certainly colourful and creative.
