Bamburgh Beach, Northumberland

A detour via Sycamore Gap added a couple of hours to our journey and by the time we arrived and checked in at the Lord Crewe in Bamburgh the light was fading and one hell of a storm was brewing. A quick change and drive along The Wynding to the beach car parks and this is as good as it got. Apart from us, these were the only people on the beach (there's a dog in there somewhere as well). I'm so glad we (I) stopped at Sycamore for the heavens did truly open twenty minutes later... all through the night and well beyond first light so no glorious sunrises this trip.
