Saint-Joachim is a Catholic place of worship erected in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. The Church was built in 1713. It was a stone building, but having become dilapidated, it was replaced in 1746. In 1848, about a hundred years later, a new one was proposed. It was built according to the plans of the architect Victor Bourgeau in 1858. The interior, which has resisted the attacks of modernism, is a work by François Archambault very representative of its time. The sculpted decoration includes motifs of rodents, quatrefoils ornament, pearls, trifoliate, pinnacles, columns, and pendants which enliven the surfaces. It was restored in 1963-1964, then in 1987.

Thuja is a shrub of the “Cupressaceae” family and is widely cultivated as an ornamental tree and is also used for gardens and hedges. A number of cultivars are grown and used in landscapes. The wood is light, soft and aromatic.
