On 4th August 1999, EWS 37711 growls through Horbury cutting heading 8X09 Didcot to Horbury Prorail, with LUL Piccadilly Line tube stock for refurbishment. Supplied from the Vulcan Foundry to BR Gateshead depot in December 1962 numbered D6785, it was rebuilt at Crewe Works in 1988 as 37711. It was placed into store four months after this photo was taken, eventually being despatched to Wigan CRC in 2003. Sold to EMR Kingsbury, 37711 was disposed of in November 2005, the same year when Bombardier's Horbury works was closed.

On a sultry 3rd June 1999, presentable EWS Class 56 "Grid" 56059 emerges from Standedge tunnel at Diggle heading 6M05 09:30 Roxby Gullet to Northenden "Binliner" containerised waste. Built at Doncaster works and taken into service in May 1979, 56059 was withdrawn from service in November 2006 and disposed of by T J Thomson of Stockton during 2011.

Caught in the last of the evening sunlight, "Southern interloper", Bulleid rebuilt 'West Country' Pacific 34046 'Braunton' attempts to smoke out the residents of Todmorden as it passes through and crosses Gauxholme viaduct heading 1Z82 16:26 York to Hereford 'The White Rose' on Wednesday 17th April 2024.

On 17th April 2024, 34046 'Braunton' heads the 1Z80 06:02 Hereford to York 'The White Rose' charter over the Trans-Pennine route near Standedge Tunnel, passing the 1885-built LNW Diggle Junction Signal Box.
