It's interesting to watch the Tundra Swan feeding on the water. In order to reach submerged vegetation, Tundra Swans will “tip up” like dabbling ducks.

This one is from my archives from last year. I watched this beauty feeding on the water for about 20 minutes until the light faded. It's not easy to find the right light with right angle to shoot this beauty.

Dec. 2020. St. Albert. Cold late afternoon.

Bohemian Waxwings are fruit fiends. They rely primarily on fruit. In the winter time, they eat juniper, holly, and mountain ash berries. They always form in a large group when they are looking for fruiting trees and shrubs. There were thousand of them passing through my area last week. It only took 10-15 minutes for them to "strip" a berry tree.

This photo was taken in Edmonton in an extremely cold morning (feels like -35 Degree Celsius with wind chill). Feb 2023.
