Harvest time in Stirlingshire, Scotland. I was attracted to this photo due to the lines left by the combine harvester leading to the small copse of trees on the ridge and the bales of hay.

This is the famous Turnberry Lighthouse which sits on the Turnberry Ailsa Golf course, host to The Open Golf Championship. The 9th tee sits on top of the cliff about 30 metres or 100 feet above the point where this photo was taken. To get this photo I had to scramble down the cliff face and wade among the rock pools trying to frame the lighthouse between the rocks.

Sunset over the Isle of Little Cumbrae from the small hamlet of Portencross, Ayrshire, Scotland.
This small sea inlet is where the bodies of the Kings of Scotland, from Kenneth MacAlpine (810-858 CE) through to the reign of Máel Coluim mac Donnchada (1030/38-1093 CE), were ferried to the holy island of Iona for burial.

The Theological Hall of the Strahov Monastery in Prague. The monastic library contains upwards of 110,000 volumes, of which 1200 are incunabula. Of these there are about sixty unique volumes. Of the many rare manuscripts the most precious is the Evangelistarium of the 6th century, written in uncial letters and still well-preserved. Also within are some of the oldest Bibles and religious texts in the world. The Monastery was founded in 1143. This is a vertical panorama of three photos taken with a 10mm lens stitched together.

Autumn is now firmly established in Scotland and the leaves are beginning to turn a golden colour and gradually fall from the trees. This is a photo of Finnich Gorge with one of its many waterfalls in the background. The large flat topped rock on the right is the Devil's Pulpit where the Druid Priests of the old religions held sacrifice thousands of years ago. The river appears to run red with blood due to the underlying red sandstone, hence its nickname 'blood river'.
