My friend Cos van Wermeskerken found an Oriental Turtle-Dove two days ago in Surrey. It was so nice to see it tonight. This is only the 4th record for BC. I have seen these birds before in Thailand but seeing one in Canada was super special. They are a migratory species and are very elegant. I only got to watch it for a few mins before it flew high and away.
This was the 457th bird species I have been lucky to see in the province.
