Cortina D'Ampezzo. Belluno. Italy.
The sister summits called Tofane, Tofana di Rozes (3.225m, 10,580ft) and Tofana di Mezzo (3.244m, 10,643ft).
These are two of the most imposing peaks of the Dolomites range, and they overtop Cortina D'Ampezzo, the town that has been nicknamed “the Dolomites pearl”.
The summit of Tofana di Mezzo, on the right, houses the top station of an impressive cable lift.
This viewpoint is part of an outdoor living museum about the first world war, with restored, original trenches and artillery from the Austrian/Italian front, and men and women in costumes (not the man in the photo).
