A rare shoot in Worcester and one of the many new bridges that seem to be springing up all over the place.

Our first night in Iceland and we were treated to an Aurora display above the Sun Voyager
The gleaming steel sculpture on Reykjavik’s splendid waterfront that resembles a Viking long-ship is the ‘Solfar’ or ‘Sun Voyager.’ The artist Jon Gunnar Arnason created the striking landmark.
We couldn't believe our luck, it was the first time my Wife had seen the Aurora so this was one of her bucket list items ticked off straight away.

Over the years I have been very fortunate with my trips out with the camera. I can normally get a number of images that I like out of a location. The recent poor weather has led to some more desperate decisions on when to go out with the camera. This location had promise though so it was a bit of a surprise to effectively have a complete bust. This is the only image I managed to salvage from the trip,

Búðakirkja is a local parish church that dates back to 1703. A location that is normally very busy with tourists, for some reason though, I had it all to myself :)

Iceland has a lot of ghost stories. This is perhaps one of the more unusual images from Iceland. I was trying to shoot a starscape over the Black Church of Budir, I was staying in the hotel next to the church and I had hoped for an Aurora but it was not to be.
As i walked up to the church the sky was clear and full of stars, it was also obvious that there was a lot of light by the church, mostly from a rather large floodlight but also from the graveyard. It is a tradition in Iceland that the graves are lit around christmas, hence the red light.
After a short while I was suddenly enveloped in a combination of a snow storm and dense fog, I was about to give up on the evenings photography when I noticed that the floodlight was casting a shadow of the church onto the bank of fog, hence this image.
