Wreaths Across America was started in 2007 with the goal of placing a Christmas wreath at the grave of every veteran buried in a national cemetery. The number of wreaths available is totally dependent on the donation of interested organizations, businesses and individuals. Each wreath cost $17 in 2023. This is the first year that a wreath will be placed at every grave in the Marietta National Cemetery.. That is 18,869 graves.
It required 5 tractor trailers to deliver the wreaths to the cemetery. The wreaths were packed in crates of 10. Volunteers unloaded the trailers and then the crates were loaded onto volunteer pick up trucks for distribution through out the cemetery. More photos in the comment section below..
