Last of the Summer Wine was a comedy programme on the BBC and was the longest running comedy programme in Britain and the longest running sitcom in the world. In a terrace of housing, Compo's house was adjoining and underneath that of his friend Wally Batty and his wife Nora. After the death of his friend, Wally, Compo developed romantic feelings towards the widow Nora, the biggest pull was, apparently, her wrinkled stockings!
The series was filmed in Holmfirth, Yorkshire and actual houses were used. In this photo, Compo's house was the one where the Last of the Summer Wine Exhibition now resides and Nora's house next to The Wrinkled Stocking Tearoom. The iconic blue door is hidden, but is positioned just behind the shrubbery on the stone landing.

Water spilling over the downstream face of the Upper Derwent Reservoir Dam.
This Dam, in the Derbyshire part of the Peak District National Park, was used by the R.A.F. during the second world war for Number 617 squadron to practice low level night time flying in preparation for the attacks on the German dams of the Rhur Valley, the Mohne, Sorpe and Eder dams.

The Hunt for Red October.
At my local Photography club we had a photoshoot with the theme, re-creation of a movie poster etc. I decided to do my own take on "The Hunt for Red October". But, of course, I had to give it my own twist hence I give you "The Hunt for Green April".
