Southbound Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac intermodal train No. 275 highballs around the broad curve at Taylorsville, VA on Nov. 30, 1983 with GP40 No. 127, SBD GP40-2 No. 6604 and GP40 No. 124. Traffic was booming in the early 1980's and RF&P found itself short of power. At this time, in addition to SW1500 No. 91, some SW1200's from Acca Yard in Richmond were being utilized when available. Also, power from Seaboard System was borrowed on a round trip basis when necessary. Since the statute of limitations has long since passed, I might add that most often they knew we borrowed it, but upon occasion....they didn't. We could do a quick round trip with it and they never knew any different.

Storm clouds were building in the west on April 19, 2024 as an eastbound Pee Dee River freight train approaches Tatum, SC with GP16's No's. 1842 and 1800.

We are on the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac at Elletts, VA on the morning of Jan. 14, 1978. An overnight storm has left everything encrusted in ice and walking conditions were treacherous. The northbound Acca Local has just picked up an empty IC boxcar from Best Products Co that had been loaded with lawn mowers. In the meantime, southbound through freight No. 105 passes at speed on the last leg to Acca Yard in Richmond.
