Something that has been on my to do list for a while now.

I can see a few more of these coming your way over the next few days ;)

More ferrofluid faffery this evening!

Struggling with DoF and I'm not quite sure of the answer. I have focused stacked a few but PS just laughs! Might try a longer lens from further away tomorrow.

Another play around with the fantastic ferrofluid. I have discovered if you create a bit of distance between the magnet and fluid you get a much flatter structure. The peaks are also less tightly packed.

Lit with 1 x YN560IV gelled Rogue Orange and 1 x YN560IV gelled Rogue Blue. Left and right of subject pointing down at approx 80° Triggered via YN560TX. Had to whack the power up to 1/4 @ 50mm with the liquid being so densely black.

More Ferrofluid faffery...

Only the tiniest amount here with a spike on the peak of the fluid. Couldn't for the life of me replicate the spike afterwards. Lit with a ring flash and the liquid on a piece of black perspex believe it or not!

Only a modest tinker in LR to adjust the highlights and a small crop. Other than that SOOC.
