Day 2 of my 365 took me to Manchester Airport to catch an Airbus A380 taking off head on. I failed then as it took off on the wrong runway. Day 137 saw me failing again! Dam things were landing on 05R where I was stood.
So here is an EasyJet A320-214 from Amsterdam on its approach! Bah!

After 4 failed attempts I finally got the image I have been after! Not the best you will see mainly due to lots of heat haze but this evening I'm happy:)

A must see visit if you are ever in Iceland. Make sure you take the bus tho! Even if it is the worlds most expensive 2 mile journey!
A Douglas R4D-8, a Super DC-3, was originally in possession of the US Navy and considered to be a symbol of the golden age of air travel.
Originally utilised as a cargo aircraft, the US Navy was routinely flying over Iceland during the 1970s as a part of its unilateral defence agreement with the country.
The aircraft crashed into Sólheimasandur on Wednesday, November 21st, 1973, at around 14:00 as reported by the Aviation Safety Network. It was flying from Höfn in Iceland's east coast and onboard were seven crew members.

As I was visiting wifey in Salford Royal today I decided on another trip to Manchester Airport. The last time I went I missed out on the behemoth Airbus A380 so I checked departures and there was one bound for Dubai at 13.10. Perfect!
Shortly after parking up in a nearby lane I realised they were landing at the south end and not taking off as my last visit. When I got to my vantage point runway 2 was not in use!!! They were taking off and landing using only runway 1!!
I didn't have time to make it over to the other side of the airport. So my shot today is the A380 taking off over 3 miles away and on the wrong runway grrr.
I will be back tho to get the head on shot I want.....

My 1st trip to the Mach Loop last year saw me draw a blank. Today I managed to catch 4 aircraft. Some really crap weather to begin with then challenging light all day. Not the best or sharpest shots you will see from here but I'm happy :)
